Hi all,

I'm Ha Le, owner of Milky Way Retirement.

I help you retire, in a dignified and comfortable way.

And this is why I do what I'm doing and why I love doing it.

I came to the U.S. in 2010 while my husband was pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Engineering at UIUC, Illinois. At that time, my visa status did not allow me to work, though I had a Master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

I had been a stay-at-home mom for 10 years.

I had been worrying about my financial future for 10 years.

And when I got my working permit from USCIS, I learned that if I couldn't manage my financial life, I may not have a dignified retirement in a place I considered my second home.

Therefore I started my journey as a life insurance agent. Then I learned about long-term care planning and estate planning.

But I felt it wasn't enough.

I wanted to have a secure retirement. Yep, I'm a woman, and I don't like taking risks. I discussed with my husband about our financial future, but I felt like I was looking at several pieces of a puzzle but not the whole picture of retirement in the U.S.

So I started my learning path again, to become a CRPC® — Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor.

I want to help myself first, in this seemingly new environment where no one before me was telling me how to save for retirement. I also want to challenge the retirement myths that Vietnamese immigrants share with each other. There are no "one size fits all" solutions for retirement.
